Working hand in hand with our growing electrical power and automation systems design department, and to enable us to offer integrated fluid power solutions to the market we are looking for a talented hydraulic/mechanical design engineer.
The candidate must have a high level of competence in the detailed design and manufacture of hydraulic power units and hydraulic systems, preferably for marine and offshore applications and a strong track record in 3D and 2D design.
Main responsibilities will include: development and production of hydraulic circuit design schematics; development and production of 3D designs for hydraulic power units, production of 2D layout and manufacturing drawings, production of bills of materials; liaison with purchasing to support production and manufacturing of equipment; supervision of in house assembly and testing operations and management of subcontracted work; supervision and planning of commissioning; production of project documentation including: Functional Design Specifications, FAT/SAT/SIT Procedures & Reports, Calculation Notes, I/O Lists, Cause & Effect Matrices, FMECA documentation, Spare Parts Lists and other Project QA/QC material. Also providing support to the Tendering and Proposals team as necessary.
Other responsibilities will include: detailed 3D and 2D enclosure and operator console design for both fluid power and electrical power equipment and supporting our electrical power and automation systems design teams with mechanical design expertise for complex packaging and containerising of equipment.
The candidate will also have practical hands on experience with hydraulic systems construction, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
We are looking for a highly motivated, practical and proactive engineer who is able to communicate well at all levels and be customer focused and commercially aware. A suitable engineering qualification is required, HNC or better, together with the relevant experience required to deliver in a demanding environment with short delivery times.
