Caledonian MacBrayne ( CalMac) has awarded Energy Gurus the Framework Agreement for Upgrade of all Main Air and Moulded Case Circuit Breakers across its fleet. This will include future servicing of the installed equipment and will run from August 2019 to March 2021 with an option for a further one year extension.
Energy Gurus were able to demonstrate through a competitive tender process ,which included National and International competition , our expertise and strong track record in successfully delivering Marine Switchgear Upgrades for both Commercial and Offshore Vessels.
Sales & Business Development Manager , Ryan Reilly comments : “This is a significant contract award by CalMac Ferries to Energy Gurus that builds on our recent successful propulsion control systems installations awarded in 2018 . It reinforces the confidence and trust clients have in Energy Gurus delivering major power and automation projects for critical equipment applications to the marine, offshore and renewable sectors.
CalMac is the UK’s largest ferry operator, with a fleet of 33 vessels running 29 routes to over 50 destinations and across 200 miles of Scotland’s west coast.
The Loch Nevis, the first of the upgrades, was completed in September 2019 with 12 further Ferries planned to be upgraded by March 2020 .The remaining upgrades to the fleet will be carried out during the docking periods in 2020/21.
The Loch Nevis was successfully upgraded to the New ABB E-Max 2 ACB’s during dry dock in Greenock and completed ahead of schedule.
